  2. Yeah, but funny thing, the Lemoneads covered “Time of the Season” live around the time of Lovey. Dando was always known for taking a great song and doing it justice. So Mr. Parnell, your Zombies cover was actually inspired by Dando and his crew of revolving hipsters. Good for you!Tomorrow you will post a cover of Luka and ask, “Why couldn’t the Lemonheads be this clever?”

  3. Actually, I posted a Zombies cover because my father had their original singles on vinyl and I grew up listening to them. I also saw the Zombies reunion two years ago, I am that much a fan. Dando, in 2004, I believe, was still trying to pretend he wasn’t still a junkie, mainly by showing up very drunk to live shows around the county. And while I was listenign to those Zombies singles, Dando, meanwhile, was a dirty skate rat outside of Massachusetts, hitting on his best friends little sister, who I went to college with sometime later. She said he smelled like goat. Lemonheads’ cover of Time of the Season was horrible. A huge mistake, like that insipid sellout version of “Mrs. Robinson.” Their best cover was “Amazing Grace,” or “Brass Buttons.”

  4. As for the Felchfork Best singles of the 60s, I said nothing simply for that very reason you mention – I could go on for days, and I don’t have days. It’ll take me six weeks just to settle on a possible top ten. And yeah, that cover by Snowden was such a risk, I listened to it for the first time with my eyes squinched shut and my shoulders contorted, but then I was happily and slowly relaxed when it didn’t suck. Not bowled over by Snowden’s own stuff, but this was nice.

  7. You got me! Wow. Neat trick. But I’m still basing my (current) Dando hate on his shitty new single, on which J Mascis sounds like Richie Sambora. Polemics keep me interested. It’s a weakness.Mascis + Dando = Asia
