The other day I received a wonderfully important email from a publicist — about their hiring of another publicist, something I’m sure I needed to know. Soon, I can hope to receive press releases about press releases, and promo CDs of recordings of label board meetings.

It’s true. Myself and Cathy (of our parent company, Refused TV) are honored and humbled to have someone as amazing as Sheila come on board; she wants her official title to be “Rock Publicist”. I think I had suggested something like “Super Amazing Publicity Master Boss Dream Maker,” but upon examination, turns out that title was a little too wordy. For those of you who don’t know, our wonderful and illustrious founder, David Lewis, has taken on an administrative role at Riot Act, as he has accepted a full-time teaching position at Columbia College in Chicago, IL. We couldn’t be happier for him, and though we miss working with him on a day-to-day basis, I am nearly finished painting his gilded “Our Founder” portrait for the office wall. It’s huge.
