I’ve now heard all of her new record. It has its moments, I guess, and she’s in better voice than ever, but Chan Marshall/Cat Power will never top this brief moment with the Dirty Three, the one band born to collaborate with her. So here’s to none of these four people expiring before that collaboration can take fuller shape someday.
